New plugins and features
- Jetpack Compose Preview is now a plugin. When installed, the Preview Layout button will be active in projects using Jetpack Compose. Download the plugin here.
- New Rainbow Parentheses plugin: Applies different colors to paired parentheses, brackets, and braces to make nested code blocks easier to scan and understand. Download the plugin here.
- Floating editor tabs: You can now undock, manipulate, and redock any open editor window. To undock a window, tap its name and then tap Undock. In a floating window, the toolbar lets you save the file’s content; build the project; and move, minimize, expand, redock or close the window. Watch a video:
Git Check All workflow (GitHub issue 1355): Added a Check All / Uncheck All control to the Git commit sheet so you can select or clear multiple changed files at once. The list of changes also has better spacing, persistent scrolling for long lists, and clearer behavior
Improvements to existing features
- Improved filters in the list of recent projects: New visual indicators show which filters are applied, and individual filters can be quickly removed.
Faster return from help. When you’re viewing documentation, a close button (x) is visible at the top right of pages so you can return directly to the editor.
- Easier installation: If Android’s restricted settings block the overlay permission, the app guides you through the fix and provides a shortcut to App info.
- Updated customer support links. Throughout the app, links to customer support now point to our GitHub Discussions support forum.
- Quick access to sponsorship options: Second-level tooltips now include a [heart] icon that displays options for supporting Code on the Go.
Bug fixes
- Editor scrolling: Fixed an issue where the performance graph prevented the editor window from scrolling.
- Bottom pane tab gestures: Fixed a gesture conflict where flinging bottom-pane tabs could unexpectedly open the file tree. Drawer gestures and the hamburger menu continue to work as expected.
- Other fixes, including:
- ClosedReceiveChannelException: Channel was closed (KeyedDebouncingAction on file close)
- RuntimeException: TermuxService NPE on mTermuxSessions during service auto-restart
- UninitializedPropertyAccessException: lateinit property projectPath has not been initialized
- ZipException: zip END header not found
