New: Drag-and-drop between apps in landscape and DeX

Code on the Go’s landscape and DeX support now includes drag-and-drop between Code on the Go and other apps, including:

  • Exporting a file to an email client. When you double-tap a file in the Code on the Go file tree and drag it to an email application’s compose window, Code on the Go provides a content URI for the file and the email application attaches the file to the draft message.
  • Importing assets from a file manager. When you drag an asset from the file manager into a project’s /assets folder, a copy of the asset is added to the project directory and the file tree automatically refreshes itself.

Drag-and-drop from device to IDE

  • “Quick clone” of a Git repo. If Code on the Go is open in split-screen next to a Chrome browser window, you can highlight and drag a GitHub URL from the browser to the New project page. Code on the Go will automatically clone the repository.

Drag-and-drop support for Git

Remote Git operations

We’ve enhanced Git integration by adding support for remote operations, including cloning, pulling, and pushing changes directly through the editor’s bottom sheet. This update also introduces a commit history view to verify remote updates and streamlined credential management for secure repository access.

Other fixes and enhancements

  • When installing Code on the Go on a tablet, the screen orientation remains consistent on the pages where you set system permissions.
  • When the menu bar is hidden in landscape mode, swiping down now displays the menu bar.
  • A tooltip has been added to the experimental AI explanation button on the code editor toolbar.
